The Isabel Pearl is a Mexican/Asian fusion restaurant. Everything on the menu sounded so yummy. They had a good selection of happy hour foods and drinks. I decided to go with the pineapple jalapeno margarita and the chipotle lime salmon tostada.
The pineapple jalapeno margarita ($8) was DELICIOUS (so yummy). If my wallet could have afforded it, I would have ordered two more. It was sweet but then had a hint of spice; not too much, just right! You must get one when you visit.
The chipotle lime tostada ($8) was small. It was about the size of sand dollar but had a generous piece of fresh well-cooked salmon on top with a teaspoon of black beans, a drizzle of chipotle lime sauce and some veggie garnish. This tasted fresh and light, but I would have liked a little bit more flavor from the chipotle lime sauce that it came with. It would have been more filling if it was served on a larger tostada and the salmon was broken up a bit and placed on a bed of fresh greens.
The waitress was super friendly, and she even offered to take a picture of us because she saw us taking pictures of the food. The ambience was lacking though. Half of the restaraunt has carpet, and the other half has cement floors. The carpet has many stains and needs to be ripped out. The dirtiness of the carpet almost made me not want to eat there, but I'm glad I did because the food and drinks were really tasty.
